The fabricated history of the pro-abortion movement
As we approach the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion throughout the United States, it is helpful to remember that most of what the pro-abortion rights crowd says about the history of abortion laws prior to Roe v. Wade is, to put it charitably, a load of malarky, as Justin Dyer points out in this article over at National Review Online: Fictional Abortion History. As Dyer notes, the history about abortion under the common law and state law prior to Roe has been miscast in order to bolster support for legalized abortion on demand.
