Russell Kirk's critique of liberalism

That's the subject of this essay by Bradley J. Birzer over at The Imaginative Conservative: More than "Irritable Mental Gestures":  Russell Kirk's Challenge to Liberalism. As Birzer notes, Kirk's exploration of conservative thought was preceded by his own deconstruction of the liberal tradition. Kirk's exploration of the weaknesses of liberalism stands the test of time.
