Regardless of which party and candidate wins today's elections, Pat Buchanan predicts we are in for the following: The Coming Age of Austerity. As Buchanan explains, we are in a perfect storm of social and economic disruption, fueled by uncontrolled debt, out of control government spending, demographic shifts and a bloated public sector. Whoever wins, the situation we find ourselves in will require a good deal of pain for us to get free of it.
Austerity is coming.

We're so darn "austere" now that you'd have to throw us under a bridge to get any more austere.
The only ones who will complain are the over-indulgent and the freeloaders.
PS I wish you'd get rid of your capcha. I'm now on my third try to get this published. Since you have comment moderation on, it really isn't necessary.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment! About capcha, for some reason whenever I get rid of it I get flooded with spam, and I don't really have time right now to go through and try to weed out the good comments from the bad. I'm sorry it is a hassle to comment here with it -- but I don't really have a good option otherwise without it.
As for austerity, I hear you! Things are rough all over, and it is going to get worse before it gets better, particularly if Obama gets re-elected, but also with Romney. The difference will be one of degree rather than of kind on that point.
