American independence means religious liberty

"When I signed the Declaration of Independence I had in view not only our independence from England but the toleration of all sects."

- Charles Carroll, letter to G.W. Parke Custis, February 20, 1829, quoted in The Essential Wisdom of the Founding Fathers, edited by Carol Kelly-Gangi (Fall River Press:  2009), pg. 31.

Carroll (1737-1832), a member of the planter aristocracy of Maryland, was the only Roman Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

and will go back as I saw a ref; to David Barton being a liar--Hmmmmm

as to Peter Marshall's critic-must say-having been to MacArthur's church and been a close acquaintance to some of his followers-I cannot say that I trust him - at all...

That said-thank you - again - for your wonderful posts- and for standing for LIFE--

I will always stand for life.

If you are referring to the post over at American Creation on Peter Marshall's passing, I didn't write that post. One of the other AC bloggers did. I haven't read anything by Marshall, nor have I ever debated anyone who was affiliated with him. I don't believe that I've ever even written a post about Marshall.

My only comment about John MacArthur regards his views of Catholicism, which are remarkably ignorant for someone who claims to be a theologian and Bible scholar. I don't know much about anything else he teaches -- once I ran across his views of the Catholic Church, I pretty much tuned him out regarding everything else.

Thanks for the comment -- and thank you for all that you are doing in the cause of Life!

Ok -- I just wanted to clarify in case there was any confusion.

Cheers!
